iRewind and ASICS Nominated for Two Yahoo Sports Technology Awards

The Japanese sports apparel giant and the Swiss video tech company have been shortlisted for two prestigious Yahoo Sports Technology Awards 2020 (YSTA):

50 industry leaders from sports, technology and business spent approximately 25 days collectively to determine which were the best in 15 individual categories. The list of applicants featured hundreds of entries from 31 countries representing 45 sports, including F1, World Athletics, Manchester United, MLB and La Liga lining up to contest the silverware.

Rebecca Hopkins, STA Group CEO, said: ‘The range of technology showcased this year, as well as the caliber of organizations participating, has been outstanding. The Sports Technology Awards are a highly prized, globally respected mark of excellence […]. This shortlist is a comprehensive, unique and authoritative representation of what innovations are important in sport.’

iRewind and ASICS are nominated for their 2019 collaboration in connection with some of Europe’s largest running events. iRewind’s personalized finisher technology helped ASICS digitally activate its sponsoring engagement and provided tens of thousands of runners with an ASICS-branded video of their run. The collaboration will continue in 2020 with even more races on the calendar, including Paris, Barcelona, Stockholm and Frankfurt Marathon.

The winners will be announced at The Londoner, Leicester Square on September 10th .
