iRewind shortlisted for the Best New Concept or Innovation for the 2018 Sports Technology Awards in London

The Finisher Clip project by UBS Kids Cup is making international waves. The Swiss video technology iRewind is at the heart of the project and has now been selected for the shortlist of the “Best New Concept or Innovation” category. The awards will be presented on 3 May in London.

The names on the shortlist are impressive, with ATP, NBA, USA Hockey, Audi, Gatorade and ETH Zurich on the list for this year’s Sports Technology Awards in London, the most prestigious event in the global sports technology sector. Another name to be found is iRewind, which produces finisher clips for the UBS Kids Cup, a successful sports sponsoring event by UBS. A total of 7,700 personalized videos were produced in 2017 using a fully automated solution that has the videos ready for viewing right after finishing the run in the UBS activation tents. Seamlessly integrated into the digital services offered by the UBS Kids Cup, the videos have brought in a particularly impressive amount of participants and are a major driving force in the online performance of the UBS Kids Cup.

The project was implemented in collaboration with the Swiss video production company yoveo. The cooperation involved custom tailoring the iRewind technology to meet the specific needs of the UBS Kids Cup. These include the immediate sharing of videos on WhatsApp and the automatic generation of a personal newsletter with a screen capture of the finisher clip.

The winner will be announced on 3 May 2018 at “The Roundhouse” in London. In the meantime, there are plenty of additional innovative projects in the pipeline that are powered by iRewind’s video technology. They can be found not only in the field of sports, but increasingly in other industries as well. We will be sure to keep you updated.
