The Power of Video reaches the Valley of Fairytale-King Ludwig II

Vasaloppet, Engadin Skimarathon, Jizerska 50, Marcialonga, König Ludwig Lauf… Names that capture every cross-country skier’s imagination. And races that are amongst the most iconic sporting events in the world. Beautiful scenery, white winters and thousands of athletes competing in peace for glory and pride.

These are only a few reasons why cross-country skiing events have always had a very special place in iRewind’s heart. Hence the excitement and anticipation for the first coverage of the König Ludwig Lauf was tremendous.

After two snow-filled days with lots of action and even more smiling faces we were happy to state that the event had lived up to its promises. The videos were delivered within 24 hours on the organizer’s website and generated both impressive website traffic figures as well as remarkable qualitative feedback. Some stats:

  • Videos watched for 90% of the time: 1’205

For the organizers, offering the finisher videos to their participants was a test since they had never tried this.
